The Learning Zone

Real Life Colorado proudly presents the Learning Zone, a fully immersive AAC K-8 CDE Facility School, providing research based academic instruction to students with complex communication needs (CCN) and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We teach our students the skills they need to engage in the world through student-centered instruction in the areas of academics, social communication, self-determination, and independent living.

The Optimal Learning Environment for Complex Communicators who use AAC

The Learning Zone is a full time academic program that delivers customized curriculum and specialized support by fully integrating AAC into every aspect of their day, empowering students to reach their maximum academic potential.

Each student receives the support they need to promote independence and full engagement in their education and community.

Summer AAC Immersion @ LZ -(SAIL)

Sail on through the summer with RLC! Join us for a fun and educational summer of programming developed specifically for a community of students using speech generating devices.

“We enrolled our son at The Learning Zone because it would be the first opportunity in his life where all the students would have talking devices. It would give our son the chance to experience friendship with kids that communicate just like him! He’ll also have the chance to increase his reading and writing skills, which is something he very much wants to do.” - Learning Zone Parent
